I never got in touch Mum
I should have done, I know
Time melted into years
And cold winds, they did blow
I never got to know you
I got on with my life
And now I have become
A mother and a wife
I never meant to hurt you
Though you hurt me so much
We’re as silly as each other
For we neither got in touch
I never did forget you
But it was hard to forgive!
Old wounds fester slowly
And it’s a fast life that we live
I never can repay you
For my life turned out Ok
The choice you made was for the best?
Let’s just look at it that way
