Please wait for me, I will be there.
T’is my intention – take a chair.
and rest your legs – relieve the strain.
Do take a brolly, in case there’s rain.
Please wait for me, I’m seldom early.
Don’t lose your rag, or act quite surly.
The wait, I promise, worth your while.
I’m eager for your welcoming smile.
Please wait for me – my timing crap.
So don’t you worry, or get in a flap.
or think the date, you have misread,
or my words misheard – all is not dead.
Please wait for me, a minute more.
Your strongest feeling’s, please ignore.
Don’t teach me a lesson, or curse and swear.
I’m trying my damnedest, to be right there.
