I can promise you the moon
to guide you through the dark.
I can promise you the light
at break of day.
I can promise you the sun
but not always on demand.
I can promise you four seasons,
in one day, but not as planned.
I can promise you sweet williams
and geraniums and roses.
I can promise you warm arms, when
on my chest, your head reposes.
I can promise you my tears
if before me, you depart.
I can promise evermore to you,
my ever loving heart.
