With their first of seven hits on Columbia,
in 64, ‘Baby Let Me Take You Home’, rose to No.21.
And also in 64, reaching a US & UK No.1,
came ‘The House Of The Rising Sun’.
Ending 64, ‘I’m Crying’, climbed to No.8,
and in 65, ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’, was a Top 3.
And their next hit of 65, also a Top Ten, at No.7,
was ‘Bring It On Home To Me’.
In 65, ‘We Gotta Get Out Of This Place’, peaked at No.2.
And also, ‘It’s My Life’, gave them another Top 7 shout.
In 66, with their first hit on Decca, they rose to No.12,
with ‘Inside – Looking Out’.
Also in 66, still on Decca, ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’, a No.6.
And finally on Decca, ‘Help Me Girl’, at No.14, did arrive,
though now, renamed Eric Burden and The Animals.
And in 67, on MGM, ‘When I Was Young’, peaked at No.45
Still in 67, four more hits followed on MGM, including
‘Good Times’, at No.20 and ‘San Franciscan Nights at No.7.
In 68, ‘Sky Pilot’, made the Top 40 flight.
And in 69, ‘Ring Of Fire’, a No.35 delight.
In 72, ‘The House Of The Rising Sun’, on Rak, made No.25.
In 82, ‘The House Of The Rising Sun’, also on Rak, a No.11.
Bringing to an end, a glimpse of this remarkable group,
that to this day, fans think are pure heaven.
