She awoke one morning
and suddenly took it into her head
that after a lifetime pining for him,
he probably now was dead.
No-one could change her thinking,
nor could they make her stay.
As she set off on her journey
they watched her life drain away.
Her whole life wasted just hoping,
that someday he would return.
What a price to pay for love,
now that all the bridges burn.
And what, if when in heaven,
god forbid, he isn’t there?
And she booked a one-way ticket,
out of love-sick despair.
And what if all the time,
he was watching from close by,
and just around a nearby corner;
himself, a love-sick spy.
What fools, deserving of each other,
if ever two fools where,
to spend a lifetime apart,
when they could have been a pair.

They said she was social climbing,
but of her, he was very fond.
So much so, that he gave up his throne
for that gal across the pond.

It’s over
Just go, don’t linger.
We’re no longer an item.
It’s over
Be off, don’t look back.
We gave it our best shot.
No point in living a lie.
Vamoosh
They joined bodies without
thought of tomorrow
when their normal lives
they would resume.

Write your number
on the back of my hand,
and soon I will take you
to the promised land.

It was all about opportunity
It happened
It shouldn’t have
But it did
And they just had to live with it.
They lay together
and the world stood still.
Two hearts as one.
No better thrill
After the split came the re-uniting,
and for a time life was quite exciting
But then old cracks began to reappear,
suggesting the end was very near.
So they parted again but remained in touch,
and still cared for each other very much.

Come and sit by me
You look so in need of a hug
If that chair is too uncomfortable
We could snuggle up on the rug.
I deserted you because
you were too soft.
You mothered me.
Smothered me.
Saw to my every need.
You should have been
more challenging, and
stood your ground.
Our relationship is dead
because you had ‘doormat’
stamped across your head.
