Once again she found herself sinking
into that self indulgent swamp.
Where her guilty pleasure of wanton desire,
recalled glorious nights of romp.
Tis but a game and now
the match is spent.
The flame is but a flicker.

their loyalty never wavered.
Though enduring many an off beat crotchet,
they had a love that never quavered.

When you’re aged and wobbly
and passion is forgot,
there’s no greater feeling

mind reflects on happy times,
and confirms you are the one.
The forgiveness shone from his eyes.
His lingering blink spelt out defeat.
In this game of mindless competitiveness,
he was a push-over, so easy to beat.

Talk her round, give her the
same old bull.
Promise her the moon, and a
glass that is always half full.
