He was willing to leave
his roots to be with her.
But she wouldn’t hear of it,
and thus spent the rest of her
life wondering – what if?

Lust is an impetuous friend.
He presses the button marked GO,
And say’s ‘You’re onto a winner, my son –
get in quick, before she says NO.

Hand in hand they stepped out of the hotel lift,
walking coyly through the foyer into the street,
where he hailed a taxi for her, and lightly kissed
her cheek, before returning inside to settle his
bill and get on with his life.
Their paths never to cross again.

Such front
Such bravado
All show
What a blow
If he never had existed
if indeed, he’d never been born
Life would have been
less complicated
And between the two of them
she wouldn’t have been torn
She was unique to the
point of obscure, though
not without allure
Our paths crossed
We touched
We dared to care
We parted
But feelings remained
Too raw to bear
Too private to share
But there,
always there

Lust and all it’s aggravation
The dark side of the mind
I could fill a thousand rivers
With the tears for you, I’ve pined.
When flesh is no longer touchable,
and air kisses have blown out to sea.
The memory of you will still linger,
forever in the heart of me.
Bit’s and bob’s of nothingness
arranged daintily around the plate.
Microscopic innuendo,
can SO infuriate.
