Constance and Prudence
And Penelope Jane
Travelled down the plughole
And finished up in the drain
Victorian values,
Material wealth.
Where are the teachers
From bygone days?
Servants and kings,
Jesters who sing.
Horses and carriages,
Arranged marriages
Change for the better
Change for the worse
But still beware
Of the witches curse.
Edwardian England
OccupiedFrance
Please take your partner,
For the next dance.

Unjust infiltration
And seasonal brussel sprouts
Rudimentary radishes
And nagging self doubts
All perishable commodities
All five-a-day louts

Oh what fun it is
Chasing the chaste!
But once in her web
-I retreat – post haste
It doesn’t really matter
if the job is not quite done!
We can finish it tomorrow
At our leisure in the sun
The geese are going to warmer places
-Sensing it’s time to go
They don’t require tickets and cases
-They travel lightly – you know
