In the seconds before
the dream starts to fade,
recollect what you can,
of the sense that it made.
You will find a reason
why it came to call.
Take solace and comfort,
and love most of all.
It is but an angel,
sent on a mission,
to guide you along,
with your permission.
The choice to ignore it,
is yours all alone.
Though if you embrace it,
you make it your own.
Never lonely, never blue,
always thinking, just of you.
Never recovered from when you flew,
never moved on to pastures new.
Ever stronger my love grew,
the longer I was without you.
Never sad, nor did I rue,
decades thinking just of you.
Ever loyal, not did I woo
another love to replace you.
Never searching, ever true,
I found the best there was in you.

Only a fool would
hang around unwanted,
when cursed and belittled
and scorned
Only an idiot would settle
for being taken for granted,
when used and abused
by a monster, horned.
Only a friend would
see beneath it,
and accept a heart
that is torn.
Only an angel could
cope with a devil,
that has entered
a soul un-warned.

Oh water nymph, you heavenly angel,
yet existing in the deep coral sea.
With seahorses for protection and
gossamer wings ensuring you’ll
always stay free.

When Cristobelle comes calling,
allow her into your world.
Accept her for what she is;
a fickle, complex girl.
When Cristobelle comes selling,
purchase her homemade wares.
You can forward them onto a charity,
if no use for them ever occurs.
When Cristobelle comes weeping,
mop her weary brow.
She’s really at the end of her tether,
and in need of a good friend now.
When Cristobelle comes no more,
a sorry day that will be.
There’ll be a gap in your life,
for the whole of eternity.

No tricks or hidden agenda
No falsehood or cloudy smoke screen
Tis hard to believe they are so supportive
when such users some others have been.
No self promotion or social climbing, no
double edged sword that in the back stabs
Just love offered purely and simply
flowing as frequent as city black cabs.
No secret ulterior motive
No improbable tenuous link
Just friendship offered from the heart
So rare these days, one only can think?

Taking a moment out
from his daily grind,
a long hot summer
returned to mind.
Only fleetingly was there
a chance to look, at that
amazing page from his
memory book.

She instilled in them disciple
and structure, and re-taught them
self esteem.
She showed them the benefits of
of damned hard work, where
lackadaisicalness had taken
hold in the extreme.
She shared with them the gifts
of her talent and scraped them
up off the ground.
A more remarkable person there
never was –
A natural giver of life and love,
and great fun to be around.

She’s an innocent soul who’s lost
control, but her intentions are good.
She just approaches life from an obtuse
angle because she’s wired differently.
In her head there is chaos and clutter.
She speaks from the heart without
agenda or chart.
She’s an open book, with a raw outlook
and has an impartial view, but as a friend
she’s honest and true.

She cried ‘Not me’,
‘No, t’is not I,
who caused you grief
or spiked your eye’.
‘Please take this olive
branch from the tree,
I lie, I do,
You are right
It was me’.
