To discover one is truly loved
is the most wonderful feeling on earth.
To know time nor distance can break that bond,
gives life such meaning and worth.
The re-affirmation of what was set in stone
takes the chill off a wintry evening, when
one sits huddled all alone.
Two clouds collided and from
the sky came rain.
Two hearts touched as one
and healed the pain.

She is the real package,
the genuine mc’coy.
There’s no-one on earth
could bring you more joy.
She’s effervescent and zany,
unique, in her style.
When she pops into your mind
you can’t help find a smile.
She’s the one who can move you
Oh yes, and bring tears.
Like many, she’s suffered
in her former years.
She’s known heartache and tragedy,
both in equal measure,
yet battled through regardless.
She’s an absolute treasure.
I’ll meet you down by the bougainvilleas,
but promise me you’ll come alone.
I’ve something to show you that will melt
your heart, unless, of course, it’s made of stone.

The smiling mackerel sky
is telling us that tomorrow
will be fine, and we should
rest easily in our bed, after
partaking of very fine wine.

They were never destined to lie together.
Theirs was a friendship based on protection.
Had lust entered the frame, complications would
have arisen, forcing the dynamics to change.

Very few would recognise themselves
if they saw how others see them.
Very few would smile approvingly
if they knew how others view them.

‘It’s windy today’ said Winnie,
‘It’ll blow you into next week’.
‘Oh, I’m well prepared’ replied Clara,
‘I’ve lived through conditions more bleak’.

If you’re a thrifty person,
and you know how to save.
Never lend it, for to lose it,
will see you in your grave.
